Description
The Beginners Curriculum has 4 stages:
- The Reading stage: reading The Quran fluently, building on Noorani Qaida.
- The Tajweed stage: complete Quran Nazra with correct Tajweed.
- The Surah stage: memorization of the last 8 Surahs.
- The Daily practice stage: complete Namaz and 15 daily supplications.
Prerequisites
Requirements differ based on the age of the student and how much he/she already knows. This course begins where Noorani Qaida ends, so the student should be able to recognise the Arabic letters and read basic words.
Reading Stage Prerequisites: Completion of a basic Arabic reading course such as Noorani Qaida. If you are an absolute beginner, we recommend starting with our dedicated Noorani Qaida program first.
Tajweed Stage Prerequisites:
The ability to read verses of The Quran, and familiarity with the letters and their shapes.
Surah & Daily Practice Stages Prerequisites:
To be eligible, a student should be comfortable with:
- Reading words from The Quran (Mus’haf).
- The fundamental Tajweed rules covered in the previous stage.
- Copying the accent of the teacher accurately.

Reading The Quran Fluently
STAGE: 1 FOR: Post-Qaida beginners
Reading Summary — training will be on:
- Listening and imitating the teacher.
- Spelling the words.
- Fluency in reading words and sentences.
- Knowing the letter shapes written in the Qur’an.
- Building confidence reading directly from the Mus’haf.

Complete Quran Nazra with Tajweed
STAGE: 2 FOR: Students reading fluently
Tajweed Summary — training will be on:
- Rules of Ghunnah and Qalqalah.
- The articulation points (Makharij) of the letters.
- Dividing the verse into sentences.
- Correct pronunciation and fluency in recitation.

Memorization of the Last 8 Surahs
STAGE: 3 FOR: Students reciting with Tajweed
Surah Summary — training will be on:
- Memorizing the last 8 short Surahs.
- Repetition and careful memorization.
- Ongoing review so what is learned is retained.
- Understanding the meaning of what is memorized.

Complete Namaz & Daily Supplications
STAGE: 4 FOR: Every beginner
Daily Practice Summary — training will be on:
- Learning complete Namaz.
- Memorizing 15 daily supplications.
- Applying what is learned in daily life.
- Building the habit of daily recitation.
